Advantages/Disadvantages for Visible and IR imagery?

Visible imagery allows you to look at the fine detail of clouds. IR allows you to look at the temperature of cloud tops so you get more information about the type of cloud you are looking at. IR will show areas of frost, visible images will show dust storms and smoke.
