Should i fight for love or disarm?

I really like this guy and I was just crushed by finding out he has been hugging my friend and putting his arm around her. We both think he likes my friend and no my friend doesnt like him. I just dont know I have liked him so long and I don't know how to let go because I still like him so much. So should I fight for love or disarm
